How to Create a Website – a Simple Guide for Beginners

$

If you are a novice in the web site building and just starting out, this article is the perfect resource for you to learn how to build your own website from scratch. In the following I will explain step-by-step how to set up a website and publish it online. I will give you alternatives that can be used for website building, so you can choose that fits you the best.

You may think that making a website is a difficult task and only web designers or developers can do it. It is certain that you might not be able to implement certain functionalities to a website if you are a beginner, but it is possible to build a properly functioning and professional looking website in less than an hour.

There are 3 key components that are needed for a website:

  • Domain name
  • Web hosting
  • Site builder

These terms might sound strange to you, but I will give you more info about them bellow in this article.

Registering a domain name

Getting a domain name is the first step in the process of creating your website. The domain you register will be the address of your web-page. Each and every domain is unique and can be registered once. So for example, you will not be able to register google.com or cnn.com, because these domains are already registered. Finding a good name that will represent your company can be difficult, however here are some tips to help you out in the process of finding an appropriate domain name:

  • There are many domain extensions you can choose from, however the most popular and best domains are .com, .net and .org
  • If your website will target a specific country, you should pick a country specific domain such as .co.uk (for United Kingdom), com.au (Australia), .de (Germany) and so on.
  • Keep the domain name simple and easy to remember, if possible avid hyphens and numbers.
  • Also avoid the use of copyrighted names in your domain. You should never register a domain such bestamazondeals.com, because beside you will lose it, you can also end up in a lawsuit.
  • The domain you choose can be a keyword (or multiple keywords describing your website and business) or can be your brand name or company name. Choose a domain the represents you the best.
  • Always register your domains at companies that are accredited and have a good reputation. This way you can be sure that your domain will be in safe hands.

A .com domain will cost you around $10 per year, however most web hosting companies such as BlueHost, InMotion or iPage will give you a free domain name if you buy web hosting from them. Continue reading to find out what web hosting is.

Getting a web hosting account

The second step in is to buy a web hosting plan, where you will upload your website. Web hosting is basically big room or building (called data-center) where multiple high performance computers are connected to the internet. These computers are owned and operated by a web hosting provider. When buying web hosting, you actually rent a very small part of a computer.

how a web hosting data center looks like

With so many hosting providers and plans it is difficulty to make the right choice. I will give you few tips on how to pick the right hosting plan for your website:

  1. If you are planning to build a presentation website for your company, or want to create a small blog or a simple website where you will upload information about the services and products your company is dealing, a shared hosting plan should be good for your needs.
  2. If you plan selling products online, and need an ecommerce type website, you should opt for a VPS (virtual private server). This will give you a higher control and security over your website at additional cost.
  3. Probably you will not need a dedicated server very soon, however if your website traffic grows to thousands of daily visitors, you will need one for sure.

Here is a great animated video that explains each hosting plan:

The video was presented by InMotion hosting, who offer shared, vps and dedicated plans.

You might think that hosting service is expensive, but is not. Shared hosting is priced around $5 per month, and is usually billed upfront for a one or two year period. The cost of a VPS hosting starts at around $20 per month, but this really depends on the server specs.

At iPage you will get shared hosting for only $1.99 per month, while at BlueHost a similar shared hosting plan will cost $3.95 monthly.

Building and publishing your website

Once your domain and web hosting account are in place, you can start on developing your website. As mentioned, you don’t have to be a developer to build a website. There are many tools you can use to create stunning, professional looking, fully functional websites in no time. I will give you few examples of tools and the use of them:

  • Website Builders: are great software that are designed for people with no skills in programming. These types of tools come with a very user-friendly interface and drag-and-drop functionality, which gives the user the ability to fully customize the website with the pressing of few buttons. Usually web builders come with ready-made templates for different niches, which can be customized. For instance eHost’s website builder has over 1000 templates available you can choose from. I recommend using a site builder for small, static websites that will not be updated frequently.
  • WordPress: is free and is one of the most popular content management system, used by over 75 million websites world-wide. This software requires a bit more time to be learned, but the use of the software is very easy, once you know how it works. It is not required to know programming to build and manage a WordPress site. There are hundreds of websites full of tutorials and guides on how to use WordPress. For a blog or a website that will be update frequently, WordPress will be the right choice. For hosting your WordPress site, I highly recommend BlueHost.

Certainly there are many other tools you can use to build a website, however these two are the most popular and easy to use.

Now that you know how to create a website in theory, get practical and start building your website. I highly recommend using the following web hosting providers to start your website.

How to Get 1 million AdSense-Safe Visitors in 30 Days?

$

0

If you are managing a website, probably you already know how hard is to generate traffic. This task is even harder when you run AdSense on your site, and trying to make a profit. AdSense is a relative good source of income if you have enough traffic to your website. Google however can ban your account if you try to trick the system. They are very picky on the content you create, but this is in your control. However when you buy traffic to your site the game is changing.

I have spent some time to read Google AdSense’s terms, but have not found anything that refers to bought traffic. However I found this article that gives you general information on how to buy traffic that is safe for AdSense. When you purchase traffic to your site, it is crucial to know where that traffic is coming from, what kind of traffic it is and how this traffic impacts the ads you have placed on your site. Generated traffic is of course prohibited. Your account will be banned if you buy traffic that is generated by bots or force users to click on ads.

Unfortunately Google does not give any information about the sources that they found to receive invalid traffic from, referring to the legal complications that this information might attract.

Then is it Safe to Buy Traffic for AdSense Sites?

growtrafficWell you can never be sure that the traffic you buy will be ok for your site. However there are websites such as GrowTraffic that claims to provide traffic that will work for AdSense sites as well. They do not give you any guarantee on this claim, but they state the fact that there were no reports about banned AdSense accounts from the traffic they have sent.

To be sure about the quality of the traffic you are going to buy for your money site, first I suggest testing it. It might be expensive to test the traffic, but it can be fatal having your account banned if it happens to buy bad traffic. The simplest way to test the bought traffic is to create a website that has no ads on it. Install Google Analytics and other tools that can track the incoming traffic and compare the results.

Check the source of the traffic, IP addresses, and user agents and if you find anything that might look strange, restrict the visitors from that source with .htaccess. I will give you more details on how to restrict bots and IP’s with .htaccess in an upcoming article.

Now you might say that you will be losing traffic by banning certain IP addresses from your site. This is true, and you might also lose some revenue as well. However in the long run it is safer to do it like this. Even you will not make money from all the incoming traffic, you will make enough to still be profitable and afford to buy even more visitors.

Once you figured out what traffic is good, you can apply it to your money site. You should still track the traffic and if you find any fishy source, just block that as well.

Tips and tricks to fly under the radar

You should always buy traffic progressively and not all at once. Buying high amount of traffic in a very short period of time can be suspicious and it uncontrollable. Even though it is not against Google AdSense terms to buy traffic, you should still do it carefully. Make it look natural, like a constantly growing website that gain more and more traffic overtime. Do not be greedy and plan for long term results.

So to answer to: it is possible to buy one million visitors in 30 days that is safe for AdSense website, the answer is yes. From GrowTraffic you buy one million visitors and can choose to distribute it over a certain period of time: from 7 days to up to 90 days. Please note, that I have not tested their traffic yet and I can’t claim that their service is 100% AdSense prof. Before you send their traffic to your money side, do your research and don’t blame me or them for having your AdSense account banned.

buy one million clicks

Is it worth buying traffic to your AdSense site?

Depending on the niche of your site, the CTR and CPC can vary a lot. Let’s assume that the CTR (click through rate) is 1% and the CPC (cost per click) is $0.30. Now if you send one million visitors to your site in 30 days, you will receive 10.000 clicks (1% of one million). With $0.30 cost per click you revenue will be 10.000 x 0.30 = $3000. The cost of one million visitors at GrowTraffic is $2100, which ends up in having $900 in profit (basically on autopilot). As mentioned, your profit really depends on the website topic and advertiser competition. For example a tech blog can earn much more than a website with funny pictures.

So what is your opinion on buying traffic for making a profit from AdSense? Do you have any experience with it? Do you recommend trying it out? Tell me your opinion and share your experience in the comments below.

Choosing the Best Cheap Web Hosting in 2016

$

The best way to start your first website is to get a cheap web hosting account. Why choose a cheap hosting plan instead using a free host? Paying few bucks per month for hosting will enable you way more many features and opportunities than a free hosting provider. In this article I will show you how to build a website and which are the best cheap web hosting providers you should consider in 2016.

When it comes to building a website, I always like to choose WordPress. Not only because is one of the best content management system available on the market today, but has lots of benefits such as: is free to use, easy to learn and get started with, expandable (allows to extend its functionality and build any type of website), lots of online tutorials and guides, great community support and much more.

Another great reason why many people like to use WordPress for their website is that it does not require any technical skills. No coding experience, no designer skills are needed to build a site with this software. However to run your website, you will need a good web hosting plan.

When buying web hosting, the price should not be a decisive factor for your hosting choice. But it is important though to compare different hosting providers and choose the plan that fits your website needs and budget. Expensive hosting does not necessary mean better service. It is not true either that cheap hosting sucks. Here are 3 cheap web hosting providers that I prefer and recommend:

Best Cheap Web Hosting Companies I Recommend:

Web Host Best Price
#1 best cheap web hosting 2016 $2.75 / mo
#2 best inexpensive web host $1.99 / mo
#3 best cheap hosting site $2.99 / mo

These hosting companies are great for hosting WordPress or any other small websites. They allow hosting multiple sites under one hosting account and give you a free domain name as well.

ehost review

eHost – My Favorite Cheap Host!

Ehost is definitely one of my favorite shared hosting providers. I used to recommend iPage as the best cheap host, but lately I consider that eHost is better. Don’t get me wrong, iPage is still a very good host to get started with, but eHost has more features.

I really like that eHost has tons of features and it is very user friendly. Their system is so easy to use, that almost anyone can start a website within an hour. You don’t need to have experience of website building, everything is straight forward: login to your account, choose website builder, choose a template (design), customize it with ease with the drag and drop functionality, upload your content (text, videos, images, etc) and publish your website.

Another aspect that I like about eHost is that you can install WordPress or any other CMS quickly. Ehost allows hosting as many websites as you want. Now you want to create a new site for your new idea: you just register your domain, go to the Quick Install tool and click on the WordPress icon, fill in the required details, and your system is ready in few minutes. Love it!

I know that eHost does not have the lowest price on the market. But as I told you before, the price should not be your main concern when choosing web hosting.

In my opinion the price-features ratio is the best for eHost, this is why I consider eHost the number one best cheap hosting provider.

ipage reviews

iPage – Have Been Using it for Years!

I have been recommending iPage for years. Check out my iPage review to see why. Today I consider iPage still a very good web hosting provider and I still host couple of websites with them.

Over the years I have had a very good experience with iPage. Has never had any major issue with the company: the support was always great and the service as well. I have also been monitoring my websites lately because I was very curious about server uptime and website performance. Have heard some rumors that iPage is overselling and their servers are getting slower, but from my test resulted that this is not true. I have got almost 100% uptime with an average 400 ms response time. I should also mention that have been monitoring my sites for more than 6 months.

I have placed iPage on the second position of my top budget hosting list, only because their website builder allows you to create a website with up to 6 pages. Surely you can add more pages if you upgrade your standard account, but that will cost you more.

Ipage is easy to use; the control panel is very simple and straight forward. WordPress and other scripts can also be installed with just couple clicks, so it is very easy to get started with a new website.

hostclear reviews

HostClear – A Great Budget Host

Although I don’t have a very long history with HostClear, but my experience with them is very positive. The company is operating since 2008 but I didn’t used them until 2015. HostClear offers cheap cPanel hosting, a free domain, lots of marketing credits, cloud storage and SiteBuilder.

HostClear is very similar to eHost, while offering cPanel and SiteBuilder in the same web hosting plan. The pricing is also very close to eHost, HostClear costing more with few cents.

I really like that with HostClear you can start a website basically in minutes. Sure, if you don’t have any experience it will take you more time, but even though creating a professional website does not require any programming or designing.

You can find out more about HostClear in my detailed review, where I reveal my uptime and performance test and also my experience with the company.

HostClear is definitely a good choice if you are looking for a reliable cheap web hosting plan.

Is Cheap Hosting Good for Business?

Your plan is to create a website for your business to get more customers? You should note that the success of your website is not only the result of good marketing strategy but it also depends on the web hosting you use. Just like in the case of a house. A good foundation is required for the house to not collapse, even when the circumstances are very sever.

The hosting companies I mentioned above (eHost, iPage and HostClear) are great for hosting small business sites. In fact I’m using all 3 companies for different website projects and I’m very satisfied with the price/performance ratio. In my opinion these companies are among the best cheap web hosting providers. I highly recommend all 3 of them!

How to Recognize Fake Web Hosting Reviews?

$
0
0

You can way too many options when looking for a web hosting plan. It is very hard to decide which hosting company to choose, especially if you have no experience. But you can do some online research to find which web hosting company is good. By searching for best web hosting and similar keywords in Google you will come across different websites that are specialized in product and service reviews.

But can you trust these websites? Are they legit reviews or they only wanted to sell you the service or product? In the following I will give you answers to these questions and will tell you few tips on how to know if a hosting review site is fake or not.

I don’t want to mention any website because I don’t have any intention of causing any harm or loss to any business. I just want to share my opinion about hosting review sites in general. I want to help you, the potential customer, who is looking to make a purchase. That’s all!

“Expert” Hosting Reviews

I don’t know about you, but when I’m reading an “expert reviews” I want to find out details about the company I want to sign up with. I don’t want to read again some general info about the services, features and history. I want to know if that hosting provider is good and if it will be suitable for my needs.

A very common practice of top web hosting review sites is that there is very little or no personal opinion in the reviews. It is obvious that the “expert” who wrote the review has no clue about the hosting service.

In many cases there is no actual review, just enumeration of plans and features that you can also find on the hosting company’s official website.

Is that an actual review?

Usually these review sites will only tell you positive things about these companies. Now if you read only positive reviews, how can you know which is the best hosting site? Will you trust the rating that is given by the experts? How they actually rated the company? There are many questions that I can’t answer, but something is certain: no web hosting is perfect, and each has its downsides. Now the question is these downsides are revealed in the review. Probably not.

Customer Reviews and Ratings

Most review sites also allow customers to submit their opinion and rate the company. But how can you know if those who shared their opinion are actual or customers? Well, it is almost impossible to find out. I will explain why.

Review websites have no access to the clients’ database of different hosting companies, so there is no option to verify if a review is real or fake. Also a customer can use a nickname or other email address that is different from the one which has been used to create an account at a certain hosting provider.

Competition or angry customers can submit negative reviews, trying to create a bad impression about the company. The hosting company or some sub-contractor, for instance a reputation management company can create hundreds of positive reviews just to get rid of the negative opinion.

Now it is at the website discretion to approve or reject certain reviews. You, the reader, the potential customer won’t even know what is in the background. But something is certain: too many positive or too many negative reviews are sign that tell you to further investigate and do not trust that source. Just think about it: how many times did you review a product or service when you were happy? Would you spend your free time submitting reviews all over the web without gaining any benefit? I doubt you would search all the review websites to tell everybody how happy you are with your hosting plan. That is the truth!

Where can You Find Real Hosting Reviews?

Certainly not all review sites are fake. There are few that provide valuable information about many hosting providers. The combination of personal experience and customer reviews makes these websites more trustworthy.

My suggestion is to not rely only on one source of information. Take your time and read reviews on different websites. Compare different hosting providers and always look for alternatives. There is no best web hosting, but there are hosting companies that are better in certain areas. At the end the most important is that you find the service you need.

Besides gathering info from top review sites, you should also ask people’s opinion on different webmaster forums such as WebHostingTalk or V7N. Blogs are also a very good source of reviews. Bloggers will reveal their opinion on their current hosting service, so this can be a good reference to start with while collecting information about a hosting firm.

My web hosting reviews are real and are honest. I don’t write review of bazillion of providers, I only review the companies I use. I do receive commission from these companies if you decide to sign up using my website. But you should know that I do not only write positive things about them, I tell my opinion, even if it is harsh.

Conclusion – Should You Trust Review Websites?

Hosting review sites are part of the industry. Most of them are created and maintained only for generating revenue through affiliate sales and they do not provide actual value to the customer. There is no problem in making money as an affiliate. But recommending a service or company that isn’t reliable, is just wrong.

How to Create a Musician or Band Website for Free?

$

If you are musician or you play on a music instrument in a music band, or maybe you are a DJ and looking to create a website, this tutorial will help you for sure.

I know that hiring a web designer or developer for creating your site costs a lot of money. Your project will become more expensive especially if you have some special request such as integration of event or concert calendar a store for selling music or other feature that is not very common.

The maintenance of your site will also cost money. While you have no experience with programming you will have to contact the developer to make the necessary adjustments, update your calendar or upload new images from your last concert.

If you have the willing to learn and time to create and manage your own website, please continue reading. In this tutorial I will show you how to create a musician website for free, being a musician and not a developer.

While you will be able to create your site for free, you still have to spend some money for web hosting and for a premium theme but this is optional. I will explain everything below, but first, here are the steps you need to follow:

  • Choosing the website building platform
  • Getting a reliable and inexpensive web hosting
  • Installing your website to the server
  • Editing, customizing and managing your site

It is great that you are still here! In the following I will explain each step in details.

Choosing the Website Builder Platform

When comes to website building, my favorite platform I like to use is WordPress. I use WordPress for all my websites and blogs and also recommend it to my friends and clients.

I like WordPress because it is free to use. You can download it from WordPress.org for no charges. There is no need of knowing advanced programming languages in order to build your website. WordPress is simple and easy to use, so everyone who can create a document in Microsoft Word or Open Office will be able to use WordPress.

Another reason why I choose WordPress is that you can create basically any type of website with it. Why not use WordPress for building a musician website? There are so many plugins that you can use to extend the functionality of your website to transform it into a musician or music bands website.

Ok, so you will be using WordPress. Not let’s find a hosting company that is good and support WordPress too.

Choosing Reliable and Inexpensive Web Hosting

If you do a quick online search, you will find hundreds of different companies offering WordPress hosting services. My suggestion is to select a hosting provider that has good reputation and not only allows hosting WordPress on their servers, but they also can help you with your website if something goes wrong.

I recommend the following three providers for hosting your WordPress built musician website. I have good experience with all of them and they are very good at hosting WordPress sites. They offer a wide range of hosting plans from shared to dedicated servers, this allowing you to grow your site without the need to switch hosting provider, just upgrade to a greater plan.

Web Host Best Price
#1 bluehost best hosting for musician websites $3.95 / mo
#2 inmotion hosting reliable musician website hosting $4.19 / mo
#3 hostgator good wordpress hosting $3.95 / mo

Other websites like BeHosted also recommend these companies for hosting musician and music bands websites.

Installing WordPress to Your Server / Website

Each of above mentioned hosting providers offer Quick Installation tool, which enables you to install WordPress in just few clicks. Although you can download the system from the official WordPress.org site and upload it manually to your server, using the quick install tool, will just save you time and effort. This tool will automatically install the latest WordPress version to your domain and will create the database for you.

The QuickInstall does not require any technical skills, just one minute to choose the domain where to install WordPress, set admin login info and website title. I love this feature! Check out this tutorial for a step by step walkthrough on how to create a general website with WordPress. The process is the same for a musician site also, with the difference of using other plugins or theme.

Editing, Customizing and Managing Your Website

Now comes the fun part. After WordPress is installed to your domain, you can access the dashboard by typing the yourwebsite.com/wp-admin url in the web browser. Here you can login with the user and password you set earlier (or which was generated by the installation tool).

The WordPress dashboard looks like this:

wordpress dashboard musician website

In the left side of the screen you will find all the tools to create pages, change and edit design, configure general settings and install plugins. With plugins you can extend the functionality of your website. Most plugins are available for free in the WordPress repository. You can perform a quick search and find the plugins that you want to install to your music website.

You can search for plugins on your site too, in the Plugins section. Once you find the plugin you need, click the “Install Now” button to add it to your website. Don’t forget to activate the installed plugin.

wordpress music plugins

If you want to change the design of your website, go to “Appearance -> Themes” and search for music themes. Choose the theme you like and install it to your site. Once installed, set it to default theme to change the design.

There are premium themes too specially designed for musician and bands websites. Here are few premium themes that I recommend. These themes come with in-built features so you won’t need to install extra plugins.

No list of the best Facebook games would be complete without mentioning one of the installments in the Candy Crush series. What differentiates this installment is the theme of the game as well as some minor gameplay changes. For example, it introduces soda, which makes the candies float to the top of the screen rather than falling down to the bottom. The other great things about this one are the added, new levels that you can play on if you have already perfected Candy Crush Saga.

If you are not familiar with what your main goal in this series is, basically, you need to match 3 of the same candies. These candies all have different colors as well as shapes and you need to build up score, unfreeze gummy bears by matching candies on the frozen tiles, get certain candies to the top of the screen or do one of the other objectives to proceed to the next level. Each level has a certain amount of moves that you can make and if you run out of moves, you have failed.

The main screen of the application is where the map is located. You can see the levels that you have already completed, the next few ones or you can also scroll all the way to the end. As you progress through the game, you will move to new locations and you will meet new characters. The level variety is very nice and you will rarely see similar levels.

There are many special combinations of candies that you can make, which will help you achieve the requirements. This is a very important part of the game and you should learn these combinations to make your gameplay experience much more enjoyable.

For example, by combining candies with the same color in a 2 by 2 radius, you create a fish, which when activated swims to a special tile and activates it. You can also make bombs which destroy all candies in a horizontal or vertical line. By matching 5 of the same, you create a Color Bomb Candy. You can later pair this with any colored candy to destroy all tiles with that color on the field.

Just like in the original game, in Soda, you can purchase Gold Bars for real money, which can be used for various things, like power ups and more moves.

Pros: Anybody who hasn’t tried any of the Candy Crush series should give it a try. The gameplay is highly addicting and you won’t be able to stop playing. The interface as well as the general design of the game is colorful and fun, while the gameplay is challenging at times.

Cons: There is a limit to the amount of lives that you have. Each time you fail a level, you lose one and without the lives you can’t try it again. You can purchase Gold Bars for real money and get refill your lives if you want.

SEO Is Not Only About Keywords and Backlinks – SEO is Branding!

$

An interesting way to boost your website is to create a brand from it.  Recently, Google added a new element to its search algorithm: the power and the popularity of brands.

Depending on your brand you can influence others a lot or not so much. Google trust its users and wants to offer greater visibility to brands.

How to use branding in order to consolidate SEO

There is a well-known SEO war cycle that usually starts with new SEO techniques and campaigns, continues with actions that should manipulate results, but search results relevance decreases and Google’s utility diminish while other marketing tools increase their utility such as Facebook Ads. Next Google comes with algorithm updates in order to regain its utility back and then the cycle start again. This happens because people spend money to buy rankings instead of earning rankings.

Now, brands are trusted by people with are trusted by Google and in the end, Google trusts brands because of the people who trust the brands.

Branding helps websites to gain more popularity by keywords, other words which create semantically groups, links, and mentions. Web sites also help brands in the same way by mentions or by links which contain one or more keywords and other words which also create semantically groups.

Brand authority is distributed depending the keyword’s popularity. For example, if your keyword is amazon, it will always send to the amazon site and brand, following the next popular site and brand which uses the specific keyword such as Wikipedia and others.

Depending on the mentions of the brand on the web, the search volume and the online presence of a brand you can determine the brand popularity. You can always use as a group of keywords to search for such as a brand and a keyword like amazon books. In this case, people tell Google that Amazon is related to Books. This is even more powerful than link building and SEO on the page.

To fully use branding in order to consolidate search engine optimization you need to:

  • Build a focused and strong relationship between your brand name and targeted keywords.
  • Attract people and make them search for your brand through radio, TV, internet ads.
  • Include your brand in building linkable assets.
  • Use externally distributed content.
  • Offer great social media interactions and customer services.
  • When you are brand building you need to look after common areas between your content and what others will say about your content.
  • Pick a niche and excel in the chosen niche by proving your expertise in one or two areas of your industry.
  • Expand your expertise in the chosen niche.
  • Optimize for semantic search and knowledge graph. You can start by testing if Google knows what your brand is about.
  • Provide the most interesting, best and accurate answers to the major answers related to your niche that people might look for.
  • Define your brand’s identity for your people around the world so they should know what about your brand is.
  • Build a powerful authorship portfolio by using the sameAs property, Google+, Facebook, Twitter, entities, structured data, Wikipedia and Freebase.
  • Use link building in order to increase your brand’s popularity and visibility.
  • You should find and create a list of top domains which produce content similar to yours.
  • Try to achieve what 2 authority sites from the first 50 websites on your list achieved and replace them in your list with your own brand/ site.
  • You should write the type of content that attracts people.
  • You should also take advantage of your own existing website and others.
  • You need to see an audience that others do not see and use them properly.
  • You need to create a brand that is easy to remember and if you are using a funny name you may attract even more people.
  • You should have an online platform which can inspire people.
  • Use the most powerful resource: the brain, in order to be continuously creative and innovative.

In September 2006, Google announced extended search results for brands while in 2008 Google Suggest appears offering users the possibility to fill their search form with brands when they are looking for something. In November 2009, brands get larger listings on Adwords together with additional options for product listing links. In November 2010, brands get a new update having additional navigation options. In 2011.

Google makes the Panda Update which rewards brands by replacing penalized website in search results of the small businesses. In March 2011, Google ads Google plus One to search engine results pages, making the brand more powerful than ever. In May 2011, Google takes no action regarding a florist which spams Google. So Google does not penalize brands.

There are multiple signals that Google uses in its algorithm:

  • Brands have people searching for them by their name.
  • Brands have or not a Google Plus One page.
  • Brands have a physical address.
  • Brands have a contact information.
  • Brand are listed or not in the yellow pages.
  • Brands have their own website.
  • Brands website are responsive.
  • Brands are listed in local directories and other local websites.
  • Brands have Facebook, Twitter and so on.
  • Brands interact or not to their visitors

Conclusion

You should also know that you need more than a logo when you are creating a brand and also you need to find your own identity in order to find your qualities and your target audience. Once you know yourself, you can start doing what you like creating unique images, videos and text and finding competitive advantages. Do not forget to remain consistent, competitive and to target people you want using attractive and suggestive topics and keywords.

Basic Guide: How to Setup Your First PrestaShop Website?

$

The founder of PrestaShop wanted a way to make available small merchants online. So he developed the initial software open source so other developers created the free features we still have today. Even if features were free, merchants had trouble to develop an online shop because they lack technical knowledge so PrestaShop team launched in 2015 PrestaShop cloud.

PrestaShop is free because they make money through add-ons marketplace where merchants can sell their own add-ons. Also, PrestaShop offers technical support and strategic partnerships. In this case, everyone can install PrestaShop.

PrestaShop Basic Features

PrestaShop has a front office and a back office. The front office is what customer sees when they browse your shop represented by products, layout and so on. As the shop owner you should know the front office like the back of your hand, not only because you are going to own it to yourself to know your shop inside it out, but it is also because it is going to help you understand what customer sees, the number of pages, and click they go through during a typical buying session or where they might get stuck and how to help them out.

prestashop basic features

The back office is the name we used to give to the administration panel of your shop. Here you will use the most of your time because everything a simple user sees on the front office is managed by the back office and that includes adding/ removing products, defining localization, adding shipping information, creating a category/ product, manage your customers, create price rules and so on.

Download versus Cloud version

prestashop cloudPrestaShop is available for download to install to your own computer or server, but also, it is available in a cloud version. The both versions share the majority of their features with the initial difference lying in hosting and customization.

Now, PrestaShop Cloud hosts your shop for you and it is completely free. You are provided with a subdomain and you could also have the ability to add your own domain. The PrestaShop downloaded version does not offer a free host, and you need to find and buy one for yourself and also you may need a note domain name. There are available for both of them thousands of options in PrestaShop add-ons, including all the things like modules, however for the download version, you can also download third-party themes and modules.

To use the Cloud version you just need to go at prestashop.com and at the sign-up link where you will explain everything and after you sign up you have your online shop instantly created for you.  You only need to enter your name, password, e-mail, subdomain shop and other few data together with a confirmation received on your email.

Once you sign in you should click the “manage my store” button. And in this section, you have an add domain link which lets you add a domain you want or if you want to purchase one you can do it by selecting that option. You have some options such as domain name, FTP users, settings for password, email and so on and the support section where you have free 10 tickets and you can purchase more tickets if you want. There is available a documentation in English regarding PrestaShop.

In the Cloud, the front office has a menu created by categories, a cart block, a slideshow, a logo, a search form, a banner, a secondary menu, some products and different blocks on the footer part of the website with additional information and links for other parts of the website. Here you can also find the social media sharing buttons. In the downloaded version, this is also available because both types of PrestaShop use the Bootstrap theme as the default one. So they will definitely be almost identical.

If you have a Cloud version, your link for the back office of your PrestaShop will be example.com/back office while for the downloaded version you can customize this folder/ link. One of the most important difference between the Cloud and Downloaded version is that the Cloud uses an older version of PrestaShop for stability. So you will notice that there are differences in the design of the back office.  You will see a green color of the older versions and the text from the primary menu it has a larger font.

Also, the PrestaShop version used for the Download one has a couple of speed optimizations and some fixes for some bugs. Another difference is that you cannot add an SSL at the Cloud PrestaShop.

Learning the PrestaShop Dashboard

prestashop dashboard overview

When you log in to your administration you can see an overview of your website such as the last online visitors, how many active shopping carts you have, sales, reports, and cart values, and so on. Also, you can configure your stats.

At the top menu, you have buttons/ icons for quick access, new messages, new orders, and badges.

At the dashboard, you have the ability to look at the catalog, orders, customers, price rules, modules, shipping, localization, preferences, advanced parameters, stats, support and administration options.

How to Install PrestaShop to your Website?

You need to go to PrestaShop website and click download. After the download is complete, you just unzip the files onto your computer.

Log in to your web hosting cPanel. Go to MySQL Database wizard and create a new database and a new user! Now link the user to the new database.

Using an FTP client, you upload your downloaded files. After the files are uploaded you just need to follow the assistant from your store link. Choose your language, accept the terms and conditions and click next. Enter your store information and choose your password.  Connect your database to your installation.

Now sit back, relax and wait for the installation to be finished. For security purpose, you must delete the install folder and rename the admin one. Now you can explore the back office, add your products or just visit your front office.

BoldGrid Review: Create Your Own Website with WordPress & BoldGrid

$

If you are following my blog, probably you already know that I’ve been building websites for quite some time. I’ve built websites using Joomla and WordPress. In the last period I’ve been focusing mostly on WordPress sites, because it is more convenient for me to create a simple website using this CMS.

WordPress has become very popular and more and more people are starting to use this software for building their website. According to BuiltWith, over 17.6 million (out of 363 million monitored) websites are running on WordPress and 24% of top one million websites are powered by this CMS. It is crazy!

A complete industry is built around WordPress: theme providers, hosting companies, plugin developers, WordPress SEO agencies, and the list continue.

It is a challenge even for experienced developers to choose a good theme and the right plugins for their next WordPress project. It is time consuming to try out different plugins, themes or hosting providers to see which works the best for you. It is also very pricey.

So to save you some time and money, I decided to share my experience with the latest WordPress tool I’ve tried out. As the title already suggests, in this post I will talk about BoldGrid. I’m not only going to write my opinion on this framework, but will provide a complete BoldGrid review as well with screenshots, tips and tricks. Stay tuned!

What is BoldGrid?

You might not be familiar with the term BoldGrid, because it is quite new on the market. In short, BoldGrid is a drag-and-drop page builder for WordPress that is revolutionizing the WordPress industry. In the following I will tell you how.

BoldGrid is basically a framework, which has to be installed to your WordPress site like any other plugin. Once you install BoldGrid, you will have access to a set of tools that you can use to deploy a new site, customize it as you like, create custom layouts, add pre-made pages and example content, insert forms and Google maps and add images on the go.

Unlike other WordPress page builders, BoldGrid is compatible with all WordPress themes and plugins. You can use any new WordPress theme and build custom pages with BoldGrid.

How to Get Started With BoldGrid?

BoldGrid is free to use, however to get access to the software you have to be a customer of InMotion Hosting. If you are a customer of InMotion Hosting, you can install it through the AMP (Account Management Panel) by clicking on the “Install BoldGrid” icon.

If you are not a customer of InMotion yet, click here to sign up for a hosting account. By signing up through my link, you will get 47% discount as well.

On the signup page, don’t forget to click on the BoldGrid Auto-Install option. This way you can start building your website with WordPress and BoldGrid once your account is verified.

boldgrid auto installer

How to Create a Website with BoldGrid?

Once BoldGrid is installed to your WordPress site, login to your dashboard on the /wp-admin page. You will notice that the default WordPress login design has changed:

boldgrid dashboard login page

Once you login to your WordPress website, you will notice some minor differences in the admin menu. These extra menus are added by the BoldGrid framework. If you like more the default WordPress menu structure, you can change it back on the “BoldGrid Settings” page, but in my opinion is easier and faster to work on your website with the BoldGrid menu structure.

To setup your website, go to the Inspirations menu, and click on the Install New Site. Choose the website category you would like to install and click Select.

install new boldgrid site

It will take few seconds to load the themes that match the selected category. Once themes are loaded, select the design you like most and click to proceed.

select install boldgrid theme

In the third step of your BoldGrid site installation you can choose what page structure you want to automatically create. The Base set will install few standard pages such as About and Contact, the second set will add the 5 most common pages for your chosen category and the” Kitchen Sink” set will add all available pages. Depending on the page set you select, the setup time can be shorter or longer.

setup boldgrid pages

Once your website is ready, you can access the Customizer to edit the main elements of your design. The Customizer allows you to change website title, colors, background, fonts, setup menus, edit social media profiles, choose front page type (static or blog) and so on.

customize boldgrid website

Once you are done editing your design, save it and go back to the dashboard. Here you can choose to install your website as Staging or Active.

boldgrid install staging active

Now this can confuse many WordPress users. Why? Because this feature is something new, something different, that you can’t find in other plugins or themes (at least I’m not aware of). With BoldGrid you are allowed to work on your website, save it for later editing, but without publishing the updates just now. This is something very cool in my opinion. You can rework your whole website and deploy it when is completely ready. You can change the whole design and view it in live action and only publish when you are completely done with it.

The fun part only begins!

The system automatically added pages and example content to your website. But you want to change this, because you want to add your own text. Using the default content installed by BoldGrid is not beneficial from SEO perspective. So just add your own text!

On the page editor you will notice, that new features has been added to the WYSIWYG. With the “Add GridBlock” button you can insert pre-styled layouts to your page or post.

boldgrid insert gridblock

Once you have the layout set, you can change the text and insert the images you want. You can upload images to your website like you do usually via WordPress media manager, or you can use BoldGrid’s connect search for finding related images in their online database and insert them into your content. The advantage of the BoldGrid’s image search is that you can crop the images right in the media manager and don’t have to use any third party software to work on it.

boldgrid connect image search

Working with the builder is very simple. Once you added a layout you want, you can drag and drop elements easily and customize it to fit your needs. You can clone buttons, paragraphs, and boxes and insert them in other area of your page. Adding forms is also very simple, using the in-build Ninja forms builder.

boldgrid drag and drop page builder

It is also possible to preview your content on desktop, tablet and mobile view right in the page editor. This is very handy because this allows you to make eventual changes to your page to improve user experience and conversion of mobile users.

BoldGrid adds advanced SEO features also. You can edit the title and add meta description to your pages using the editor. This is also a pro, because don’t have to use third party plugins in order to have a great SEO for your website.

I think I covered the most important features in my BoldGrid review, but certainly there are some that I missed. You should check it out for yourself, to see it in full action.

You can learn more about the software by watching the and reading BoldGrid tutorials, which are available at InMotion Hosting.

How Should You Try out BoldGrid?

I know, you might be complaining about BoldGrid now.

I know that many people will not invest in a hosting plan, just to try out BoldGrid. Well, let me tell you something. InMotion is a reliable, trustworthy and friendly hosting provider. Please read my InMotion hosting review to learn about my positive experience with the company.

Because I’m keep forgetting this and probably many of you might also need this info, I decided to post it on my blog. Lately I was doing some benchmark tests on different servers. On one of the servers (running on CENTOS 6.8) I was using the Apache Benchmarking tool and was getting this error:

bash: ab command not found

After doing some investigation and online research I found out httpd was missing so I tried to install it. The installation failed. From further investigation I found out that I have to editing the yum.conf file.

I’m a web developer, but don’t have much experience with configuring servers, so it took me a while to figure everything out. Anyways, I will show you step by step what you should do in order to install AB benchmark on your CENTOS 6.8 server:

Connect via SSH to the server using Putty.

Run the following command to configure yum.conf

vi /etc/yum.conf

The Result

exclude=bind-chroot courier* dovecot* exim* filesystem httpd* mod_ssl* mydns* mysql* nsd* php* proftpd* pure-ftpd* spamassassin* squirrelmail*

Now you have to remove http* from the exclude list.

Type the following command to save and exit:

:wq

Now install httpd using the following command line:

yum -y install httpd

This will take few seconds and will get a notification whether the installation was successful or not. After installing httpd you need to run the following command for benchmarking:

ab -n 1000 -c 10 http://google.com/

The result:

20 Best Smartphones to Consider in 2016 & 2017

This year’s end is almost here and 2017 is around the corner. This means that amazing sales for Black Friday, Christmas gifts and end of the year are ready to hit the market. Of course, while almost everyone owns a smartphone, it is not bad to check the market just for a last minute change. It is also important to know what the market has to offer, especially for a nice price during the last months of the year, just in case you want to purchase a gift for your special ones or yourself, or if your device requires replacement.

In what concerns smartphones, 2016 meant many updates for some big names, but also just a couple of changes for others, all for the sake of pleasing the customers’ needs. We will not say anything more and let you discover 4 of the best smartphones that 2016 brought us.

Sony Xperia Z5

sony xperia z5

The last model of the Z series and the one to leave the door open for the X series in February 2016, Sony Xperia Z5 came as the device with a revolutionary camera and innovative design. Xperia Z5 was introduced as Sony’s smartphone with the greatest camera, with its Hybrid Autofocus, which, combined with the 23 megapixel sensor and the 5x zoom, enhanced the speed and accuracy. Sony Xperia Z5 is also equipped with a brand new image sensor that allows taking photos at night, without risking any unwanted noise or blur effect.

Even the phone’s design is catchy. The device has a smooth form with a metal frame and a frosted glass back. However, the design is not only a visual benefit of Xperia Z5, as it also provides waterproofness. Rain – and the summer showers, actual storms, knocked over drinks, even drops in the toilet or sink will not require a replacement or a bowl of rice, because this jewel is not afraid of water.

Moreover, it is not only protected against water! Xperia Z5 has a fingerprint sensor integrated in its power button. The location of the button makes things easier, so that the owner can pick it up and unlock it at the same time. The same couldn’t be said about nosy friends.

What about the battery, you might wonder. Smartphones are mini computers, cameras, recorders, TVs and music players all in one, but this also means being dependent on the plug and socket duo, depending on how much you use the device. Sony thought of this issue and for a quick charge of 45 minutes, you can get a full day and perhaps even two. So you might not need to worry about that camping trip.

Subsequently, the smartphone also provides Hi-Res Audio and it can digitally block the surrounding noise so that you can focus on your music. Other technical details include its weight of 154 grams, dimensions of 146 x 72 x 7.3 mm, with a screen of 5.2” FHD 1080p. The apparatus takes microSD™ cards of up to 200 GB and has a Single/ Nano SIM capability. The device comes with an incorporated Google Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

BlackBerry Priv

blackberry priv

The first Android handset for Blackberry, Priv provides an all touch screen with gesture support, fine cursor control, Touch enabled on screen keyboard and 4 row physical keyboard that can be slid out. The keyboard has a contextual auto correct feature and next word prediction, but also a personalized learning engine set to memorize the way you type. Except for its physical keyboard, Priv also has keys for locking the device (which includes the power on and off feature), a mute key, and a volume up and down one. The display has a resolution of 2560 x 1440, 540 PPI, with a screen size of 5.4” diagonal and a 16:9 ratio.

In what concerns the memory, BlackBerry Priv has a RAM of 3 GB with a flash of 32 GB. This can be expanded via a microSD card of maximum 2 TB. The battery is non-removable, with a power of 3410 mAh, and wireless charger. The estimated time for the battery’s life can get even to minimum 10.2 hours and maximum 72.7 hours.

The rear camera is of 18 megapixels with the property of optically stabilizing the image, detecting auto focus and fast focusing. Along 4x zoom and illumination on the back side, the rear camera also provides the panorama, burst and live filters, while the videos can reach 1080p with 60 fps. The front camera has a lower quality at only 2 megapixels, 2x digital zoom 720p HD for video recordings, but it has a panorama feature for selfies entitled “Wide Selfie Mode”.

BlackBerry’s Android smartphone can read various image formats such as the usual BMP, JPG and PNG files, but also the user favourite GIF, and audio and video formats such as MIDI, 3GP, MKV, AAC, MP3, AVI, DIVX, MP3, WAV, MPEG-2, WMV, etc., while it can encode and decode files in MIDI, MPEG-4, DivX, MP3, WMA, MPEG-2, Xvid and others.

The smartphone comes with a bunch of its own pre-installed apps (BlackBerry based), but also Google based. The BlackBerry apps include content transfer, the BlackBerry camera, device search, the keyboard, password keeper, and Calendar. The Google apps include Android’s device manager, Gmail, Google Chrome, Google Drive, Google Play for movies & TV, Google Play for music, the Google Play store, Google’s Street View, the Google+ social network, Play for books and the one for games. Other services provided by Google are the syncing options for contacts and calendar, WebView for the Android system, Google Play Services, Google’s features of transforming text to speech and the one for talkback.

Other features include on screen and multi-colour LED indicator, Wi-Fi Direct, 4G Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, GPS with pre-loaded Google Maps and sensors for proximity, ambient light and accelerometer, but also Braille Back.

Motorola Moto X Play

motorola moto x play

Moto X Play comes with an interesting design, which is not all about aesthetics, but is also practical due to its water repellent properties. But what is the most exciting part when it comes to Motorola Moto X Play is that its battery has one of the best endurances for a device running on Android. With 3630 mAh, the battery can last for 48 hours or “lasts as long as you do”.

The camera has a rich quality of 21 MP (opposed to the front camera which has only 5 MP) with 4x digital zoom to use for extraordinary photos and sharp videos. The flash is colour adjusting and the camera also enjoys a rapid focus and a night mode. Once taken, the videos and images can be admired on the 5.5” HD screen with a clear resolution of 1080p.

The device comes with the usual Moto software, enhanced by the Android provided OS – Android 5.1.1, Lollipop, a RAM of 2 GB and a ROM of 16 GB and even 32 GB. The availability for dual nano SIM and base models (black with black back, white with winter white back) might vary by market.

Huawei Mate S

huawei mate s

Huawei began as a small Chinese business, but now it has made quite a name with its smartphones. 2016’s Huawei Mate S might not the best smartphone on the market, but it is one of Huawei’s best products. In terms of design, Huawei Mate S has a large format of 5.5 inches, measuring 149.8 x 75.3 x 7.2 mm, but rather light compared to other devices, weighting only 156 grams. The metal body’s anodised material offers friction, avoiding the phone to become slippery. On the side, there are the buttons for volume and power control, the location making it easy for the user to find them when holding the phone.

Mate S comes in a standard version of 32 GB in grey and champagne colours, a premium one of 64 GB in gold and coral and a luxury model of 128 GB, the last one being quite similar to Apple’s products. The pressure sensitive display is a change from the normal AMOLED one. The memory of the device can be further enlarged by the addition of microSD cards, while the RAM remains at 3 GB.

The battery has a power of 2,700 mAh, which is not very much, but somehow enough for a day. At least the phone will notify you when a background app consumes too much power, so that you can close it.

As we mentioned before, the 5.5 inch display provides an AMOLED panel, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 401 ppi density. The display is a 2.5D one, the curved edges being protected by Gorilla Glass 4, which is resistant to any scratches. The colours are vibrant and the tones of black are deep, but they do tend to look oversaturated in some instances. All in all, the display has a very good quality for the phone’s price and battery power.

Like all the Mate S models, this one has a fingerprint scanner on the rear, making it easy for the device to be unlocked with only one tap, even when doing simple actions such as taking the phone out of the bag or pocket. But not only the fingers can be used to swipe or trigger selfies. Huawei has a knuckle control option that can be used to launch apps, the camera or trace letters. This option has visibly improved from its other version and makes the overall control of the device much easier.

In terms of camera aspects, Huawei is well known for its good cameras and it is really proud of it. The app itself resembles Apple’s in design, but has many options and settings to toy with. The rear camera is of 13 megapixels and has a dual tone twin LED flash and a fast focus asset, while the front camera has 8 megapixels and some beauty functions, because all selfies need a little touch of Huawei magic.

If you are interested in finding out a little bit more about what this year’s smartphones introduced and if you are considering buying one, but you are not fully convinced, we invite you to check out our next collection and discover 5 more great smartphones released in 2016.

As we mentioned above, the biggest device companies created an entire competition in releasing some ingenious smartphones. Some are fancier, some are more about performance, some are just for basic usage, and some require an arm and a leg, while some have decent prices. In other words, 2016 offered smartphones for all wallets and needs.

Therefore, until the release of the newest smartphones in 2017, you might want to check out these jewels that impressed the market, customers and smartphones fans this year. Perhaps LG, Motorola and Huawei have something that might conquer your heart just before the stores make space for the new names, and maybe at a low price.

LG Nexus 5X

lg google nexus 5x

The device made by LG and Google is not spectacular in terms of design; however, it has a plastic shell, which makes it very light compared to other products, especially considering its size. Having the dimensions of 147 mm x 27.6 mm x 7.9 mm, this baby of 5.2 inches and 136 grams is easy to use with only one hand and it can fit regular pockets. Available in white, black and blue, the phone is also quite resistant to drops and presumably, oleophobic, which means that no fingerprints stain the case. The only physical buttons are the power and volume buttons, the home one being replaced with a speaker grille and a digital version on the screen. Speaking of speakers, having only one is not the best aspect, but when the headphones are plugged in; the sound does show its real power.

On the back, Nexus 5X has a fingerprint scanner, which works pretty well and is for people who do not like wasting time unlocking their phones. This feature has been tested by customers and it has not failed to impress with its promptness – it is both fast and accurate.

For a cheaper smartphone, Nexus 5X does not have a display of cheap quality. The LCD display measures 5.2 inches with a 1080 x 1920 p resolution, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Its brightness goes up to 487 nits, while the colours are well defined regardless of the lighting settings.

The camera is also not a cheap one, the rear camera having a resolution of 12.3 MP, with the capability of taking 4K videos and the front one of 5 MP. The result is rich images despite the quality of the lighting. The app is the one that has disappointed the users with its bugs, but at least it has some photo tricks such as photo sphere, panorama and lens blur.

The phone comes with 2 GB of RAM and a limited internal storage of 16 GB and 32 GB, has GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, and a battery of 2,700 mAh estimated to last a day without much usage, though it does charge quickly. However, it is compatible with any cellular carrier, while it is also one of the few phones to support Google’s own cellular service – Project Fi.

LG G5

lg g5 smartphone

After so many plastic designs and leather back, LG followed its competitors in the metal and glass design with LG G5’s metal design and even removable battery. The device incorporates a rather small fingerprint scanner and an upgrade from G4 – the volume controls moved to the side and not the rear.

A problem that many smartphone users encounter is the overheating of the phone, with an emphasis on heat. Cases of smartphones causing severe burns and even exploding have made manufacturers more attentive. In the case of G5, LG provided a Snapdragon 820 processor with 4 GB of RAM. The phone does get a little warm when using more demanding apps, but you can be sure of your safety. Though, such processor is not exactly battery friendly, especially on G5’s. The device’s battery has a power of 2,800 mAh, which is not exactly the best and long lasting, making the possibility of changing the battery more tempting. However, until buying a new battery, G5 has Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 to take care of power issues and in a very short amount of time.

Throughout the history of mobile phones, people have went from using huge devices to reducing them to tiny, though a little bit heavy ones, to going back to large devices, yet thin. This is also the case with G5, which is not exactly a small phone, but it is remarkably slimmer, having only 8 mm, with a screen of 5.3 inches. The LCD display has a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (554 ppi) and a brightness going up to 900 nits, while the colours and contrast are both ample, though sometimes blue-ish.

The camera of 16 MP has a very accurate autofocus and an aperture of f/1.8 for situations when the lighting is poor. In fact, many customers have claimed that this is one of the best cameras to use in all conditions and environments. The 8 MP front camera is not far behind, though it has some issues with the fingers being too easy to catch in the frame, but this is only because of the 135 degree field of view. If you are into photography or high quality selfies, you have the right cameras and an internal storage of 32 GB, which can be further expanded with microSD cards.

Huawei Mate 8

huawei-mate-8

The Mate 8 is quite impressive, considering its rather low price compared to its huge size. With 157.1 x 80.6 mm and a thickness of 7.9 mm, Mate 8 has metal edges, curved corners and a back circular fingerprint scanner. Considering its size, the fingerprint scanner was placed smartly so that once the device is grabbed, the scanner can be naturally triggered without any effort. The only problem that all such scanners have is that moisture, especially rain, makes it almost impossible to use.

The device has an eight core Kirin 950 chipset, the 3 GB of RAM work quite good with the resolution of 1820 x 1080. Compared to other Huawei devices, the resolution might seem low and maybe even a little magenta, but it is more than enough, especially because there is no point in ruining the battery. Of course, the 4,000 mAh battery is strong enough to last more than one day even with battery draining apps such as Facebook and WhatsApp. Though, alerts about such apps can appear a little too often.

The cameras found in Huawei Mate 8 are something slightly different in quality. Faster than in the case of some of its predecessors, the 16 MP camera also has some interesting modes such as the high quality Professional mode, the original Standard mode, but also Beauty mode, used solely for smoothing selfies. Just like in Snapchat, you can add the watermark filter for geographical details, but the icing on the cake is the Business Card option, which is meant to pull out and fill in information from business cards.

Motorola Moto G4

motorola-moto-g4

The fourth generation of Moto G and also more pricy, but still affordable, Motorola Moto G4 is a quite a big device, measuring at 153 x 76.6 mm, with a thickness of 9.8 mm and a weight of 155 grams, supporting a display of 5.5 inches. The design is slightly more sophisticated than the previous models, with the speaker grill not put on the face, silver edges, a removable polycarbonate back, and metal buttons. Moto G has also water repellent properties, so that drops of water and a drop in water will not do any harm. However, even if the front can only remain black or white, with Moto Maker you can make your own personalised rear.

The 5.5 inch display we previously mentioned comes in Full HD resolution with 1920 x 1080 pixels and a density of 4401 ppi. The level of luminance is not that great and neither is the colour level, but it is sufficiently satisfactory.

The performance, backed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and 2 GB of RAM, is quite good with no stuttering, though it takes a little longer for some apps to load. The battery (2,999 mAh) can last around 24 hours depending on the usage, but the phone benefits from fast charging with an extra plug, which has to be purchased separately.

In what concerns the camera, it is not very different from Moto G3’s. The rear camera provides 13 MP with f/2.0 aperture, while the front one has 5 MP with the same f/2.0. The problem with lighting can be visible as photos taken in good lighting look decent, while the ones taken in poor lighting tend to be noisy. Nevertheless, the rest of the photos that are worth saving have plenty of space in the storage, which has a standard space of 16 GB and 32 GB in the more expensive version.

Honor 8

honor-8-smartphone

Honor might be a new name for many, reason why it is sufficient to say that it is a subsidiary of the more popular Huawei. Just because its history might not be rich, it does not mean that Honor 8 is an ordinary, medium quality phone. The device’s aspect has been compared to both iPhone, in terms of design, and Samsung, in terms of colour choice. The sides are glass coated with 2.5D glass, while the power and volume buttons are on only one side and quite too close one to another, which makes taking screenshots a little difficult. These features fit in the 5.2 inch phone, which is also thin with only 7.45 mm, along a rear fingerprint scanner. The phone also comes with a microSD tray that takes up to 128 GB to the original 32 GB and 64 GB.

Embodying HiSilicon Kirin 950 with 4 GB of RAM, Honor 8 has a pretty decent performance, though some apps can stutter occasionally. The usage of RAM can be controlled for the sake of battery with three battery options, one for limiting the CPU, and one for the battery’s longevity. The battery (3,000 mAh) is quite powerful for the phone’s dimensions, though it does not last very much with mixed usage, the duration being estimated to maximum 16 hours. However, it has the property of being fast charged and the battery life can also be saved with the low resolution mode.

Honor 8 comes with a Full HD panel of 1920 x 1080 pixels and density of 423 ppi, which is more than enough for the 5.2 inch diagonal. The screen can be controlled in terms of colour balance adjustment – this way avoiding a cold blue-ish screen or a warm magenta one. Auto brightness can sometimes fail its purpose, though the colour level is rather decent. Honor 8 also provides knuckle control, which can be used to write letters on the screen that would trigger apps.

There is not too much to say about the 12 MP camera, except that it can reach only f/0.95 and some of the photos taken can look slightly fake. However, it is quite decent for the smartphone’s price and has a Pro photo option that gives shutter speed, autofocus, compensates exposure, and controls metering and white balance.

Are you still not convinced which one is for you? Are you curious what the other smartphones that caused large queues in front of stores and people sleeping in tents outside them are? Or do you just want something more as the perfect gift at the end of a full year of work and hardships? Then stay tuned for our next collection, which will introduce you what bigger names such as Apple and Samsung brought in the 2016 smartphone competition.

In the previous article, we took a peek at what LG, Motorola and Honor had to offer this year. With cameras defined by 12 MP, RAM of 2 GB and large displays, there seem to be no difference between the devices provided by big names. However, 2016 is not full of clones. The small details make the big difference between cheaper phones and those very expensive. To check out some of the more expensive and fancy smartphones, we are going to introduce you to the new Huawei and Apple devices.

Huawei P9

huawei-p9-smartphone

Huawei has been gathering quite a fan base by gaining ground in the smartphone industry. This year, Huawei brought plenty of phones to the worldwide market, accessible to all wallets. However, the second most impressive Huawei release of 2016 is, without any doubt, Huawei P9. Although it resembles the previous version, P8, this release has its own mark in the P series. The device comes with a bezel on its edges to complete the rose gold, prestige gold, titanium grey and mystic grey design colours. The sides also host metal buttons, SIM and microSD trays, and the headphone jack at the bottom. On the back, we find the much praised fingerprint scanner, which is one of the best, if not the best on any of the 2016 devices. The phone’s thickness of 6.95 mm is the result of a much powerful and resistant battery.

Speaking of battery, it does not have the option of quick charging and although it has a power of 3,000 mAh, it does not last too long, getting a little over 16 hours. This also has to do with the Kirin 955 octa core chipset, 3 GB RAM and quite bright screen. However, the phone does not get very hot, except when using the device as a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Since we mentioned Huawei P9’s brightness, it is necessary to add that it reaches 500 nits, which makes it sometimes a little too bright to cope with, and the display does pretty well in different light conditions. The colours are also powerful on the 5.2” panel, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which is less than its’ competitors, but enough for the battery life to last a little longer.

The dual camera comes with a colour sensor of 12 MP, lens of f/2.2 and a monochrome sensor. These features make using additional filters rather pointless, and allow the photos to have a better original quality.

Other interesting features are the hidden apps screen and the user interface available for one hand usage, which includes automatically answering calls when the phone is picked up and rejecting the calls when the phone is flipped over. Also, for a quicker launch of the music player, one can draw an M with the knuckles.

Huawei Nexus 6P

huawei-nexus-6p

2016 brought one of its best smartphones, LG’s Nexus 5X, but also Huawei’s top device – Nexus 6P. An obvious improvement with a larger size (5.7 inches), which would push it into the phablet category, and premium materials, 6P comes with a frame of aluminium and chamfered edges and in three colours: white, silver and graphite black. On the front, the phone has a glass of 5.7 inches and the grilles of the dual speaker. The notifications can be easier to notice by activating the phone’s RGB light, while the charging port is at the bottom, volume and power buttons on the right side, the SIM card tray on the left side and the top hosts the headphone jack.

On the back, the phone has a curved bar beneath the camera and flash, which might seem uncomfortable, but it gives the phone quite a unique and stylish design. On this curve, Nexus has its fingerprint scanner (Nexus Imprint), which has the same perquisites as its sibling 5X. The strategic placement of Nexus Imprint makes it easier for the user to unlock the phone while pulling it out of the pocket or grabbing it. The scanner also connects with Android Pay, making it possible to use options for contactless payment.

The 5.7 inch LCD display has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and 518 ppi and Gorilla Glass 4 to protect it from scratches and shattering. However, its brightness does not reach Nexus 5X’s with 487 nits.

Nexus 6P’s rear camera has a decent quality of 12.3 MP and a fast laser autofocus. The camera captures the natural light very well, making the colours look as accurate as possible, though on gloomy days, which look more grey and cloudy than in real life. Otherwise, it does great with natural light, but it has some downwards, such as the optical image stabilisation which lacks. However, this problem is sort of resolved by the burst mode, which snaps eight photos out of which you can choose the right one or merge them into a GIF. But the camera is not only good for photos, as it can also record 4K videos.

In order to do all these, Nexus 6P needs a strong battery, which unfortunately is not too great for this phablet. The 3,450 mAh battery can last only a little more than a day, in case of intense usage. Though, this can be balanced with the aid of power saving batteries, including Doze, an app that stops everything, except for the basic calling and texting features. Thankfully, the phone also has the fast charging feature.

Apple iPhone 6S

apple-iphone-6s

We could have not discussed about this year’s best smartphones without mentioning Apple’s iPhones at all. The first we are going to present is iPhone 6S, which, at first glance, is no different from iPhone 6. However, 6S is slightly bigger than its predecessor, measuring 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm and weighting 143 grams, with a 4.7 inch screen delivering a resolution of 750 x 1336 pixels. And it also comes in silver, space grey, gold and rose gold, and it still fits iPhone 6’s cases.

However, iPhone 6S’ most significant addition is the 3D Touch feature. Similar to Apple Watch’s Force Touch and MacBook’s trackpad, 3D Touch identifies the amount of pressure put on the screen. With such feature, pressing down icons reveals more options such as favourites when pressing the phone icon.

In what concerns cameras, the rear one has a sensor of 12 MP, which is an impressive upgrade from the 8 MP one, especially because the photos turn out looking quite natural. Of course, this also has to do with the autofocus, which takes a certain item as the central piece for sharpness. The front camera is a 5 MP iSight one that uses the screen as a flash for better selfies. Another feature exclusive for 6S is Live Photos, which makes taking photos less irritating when trying to capture certain moments in motion, by instead capturing videos of 1.5 seconds pre and after taking the shot. 6S also introduced 4K videos for iPhones, which is not the smoothest, but is still in an early stage and probably soon to be improved.

A former running gag on the Internet was based on the premise that iPhones’ batteries barely last a couple of hours. This is not the case with iPhone 6S, which although does not have the same battery performance as iPhone 6, it does quite good, especially when using Low Power Mode. In other words, it can last more than 24 hours, unless using all the games in the store.

Apple iPhone SE

apple-iphone-se

Another great Apple release is the smaller 4 inch iPhone SE. This special edition does not come in the 6’s style with round edges, but it is a throwback at the iPhone 5 series, even fitting in its predecessors’ cases. With a size of only 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 and a weight of only 113 grams, iPhone SE is easy to carry in the pocket.

Of course, being so small, so is the screen’s size, which is of 4 inches with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels and density of 326 ppi, which gives it sufficient sharpness and bright natural colours. However, such a small screen tends to be anything but user friendly, considering that Apple’s devices are getting bigger and bigger, while the operational system is updated to fit these devices. The side effects are noticeable on iPhone SE with the crowded screen.

iPhone SE comes with other features borrowed from 6S, including the chipset which provides the Apple A9 processor with dual core 1.8 Ghz, with the graphics brought by Power VR GT7600 and with 2 GB of RAM. The camera also comes with the 12 MP found on iPhone 6S, instead of the 8 MP one from 5S. Therefore, the phone can also record 4K videos, take panoramas and have TruTone flash for snaps with a more natural look, as well as using the screen as flash for the 1.2 MP front camera And while 3D Touch is missing, Live Photos does not.

OnePlus 3

oneplus-3-smartphone

OnePlus 3 came as a surprise, being not only one of the best smartphones of 2016, but also rather cheap compared to its competitors. OnePlus 3 follows the HTC One series design by being shaped from only one piece of aluminium, with addition curves to the back and edges. The phone’s thickness of 7.35 mm makes it enjoyable to hold and even with a screen of 5.5 inches, it is still easy to grip, but not precisely with one hand. The left edge hosts the volume rocker and notification switch, while the right is reserved for the dual SIM tray and power button, the charging slot, 3.5 mm jack and mono loudspeaker holes remain at the bottom. What it lacks is the option of adding a microSD card, in order to enlarge the 64 GB storage.

OnePlus 3’s display took care of all the issues that made OnePlus 2’s lack life. The screen has now a better colour palette and contrast levels, while also having a dual polarising layer added to make the usage in bright light less inconvenient. Even when using it indoors with only 50% brightness level, the screen has enough lighting. And in order to protect such a precious screen, OnePlus 3 comes with a Gorilla Glass 4 surface.

If until now most smartphones came with a RAM of 2-3 GB, OnePlus 3 stands out with a total of 6 GB of RAM. This obviously makes gaming more pleasant. Another enhanced element is the fingerprint scanner, which is tiny and better than the forerunners’ and it can be used to access Android Pay or Barclays.

The battery (3,000 mAh) does not exactly last two days as promised, but it can go through 24 hours without requiring any charging. By making use of Google’s Doze mode, the phone can get into standby throughout the night and save essential battery power. However, you can even switch off the phone if all you need is the alarm, because even when the phone is off, the alarm rings. For those moments when the battery has died, the flash charging technology gives you back more than 50% in half an hour.

We could have not forgotten about the camera, which comes with 16 MP and the capability of recording 4K videos. The modes Dynamic Denoise, HD and HDR are available to use to get rid of the low light grey tones, boost sharpness and clarity and balance exposures, though they cannot be used at the same time. Other aspects can be easily modified in the camera’s options, such as changing light levels, opting for the Automatic mode or adjusting the shutter speed, focus and exposure.

If Huawei’s best products on the market so far did not convince you and neither did the older inspired iPhone series, nor the cheaper OnePlus, then maybe you should take a step forward. The official six best smartphones of 2016 are about to make you throw away your old phone.

These are the “it” phones of 2016, the ones that conquered the market and set up newer and higher expectations from smartphone manufacturers. The official best smartphones available this year are defined by 7’s, from Apple to Samsung, while HTC made its way to the top, too, while Google made everyone an unexpected beautiful surprise. If you are in search for top quality devices with an equal top price or even if you are just curious to see what this year’s craze in terms of devices was, check out these six jewels.

HTC 10

htc-10-smartphone

HTC 10 might be reminiscent of HTC One series with its all metal body, but its stealthy new design has some more additions. A design change that is easy to remark is the deep chamfer on the back. In terms of size and weight, HTC 10 is quite solid with its 161 grams and 154.9 x 71.9 x 9 mm, and it also comes in silver, carbon grey, gold and even red in Japan. Even the screen is quite chic with its sole Gorilla Glass covering sheet. However, unlike the other phones we presented, the fingerprint scanner comes in the front.

The volume coming from HTC 10 is clear and loud enough, thanks to the new BoomShound Hi-Fi, which includes a tweeter and a bass speaker with separate amplifiers. However, if the music genre and the age it comes from, paired with the sound coming out do not seem to suit your taste, you can use the Hi-Res headphones.

If you are wondering how the HTC 10 is doing in terms of performance, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, paired with a RAM of 4 GB make the phone run smoothly and fast. Also, unlike the previous HTC flagships, it does not get extremely hot. The phone also comes with a microSD card slot for internal storage expansion and, while the Wi-Fi connectivity is rather poor, the fingerprint scanner works excellently.

HTC 10’s 3,000 mAh battery was presented as powerful enough to last two full days, in practice; the battery can get through a day, depending on how much the device is used. However, the phone supports fast charging in about an hour, due to Quick Charge 3.0. In order to extend the battery life, there is also the battery saving mode, which would reduce the screen brightness and slow down the performance.

Speaking of the screen, the Quad HD displays of 5.2 inches comes with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and density of 564 ppi. The colour contrast can be modified to appear cooler or warmer, but the auto brightness is not exactly the greatest, which makes things slightly unpleasant when the battery saving mode kicks in.

Still, the camera gets thumbs up compared to what HTC provided in the past years. The UltraPixel 12 MP rear camera comes with an f/1.8 aperture and good optical stabilisation for the image, but also laser autofocus. Dim light can cause some ISO issues, damaging some details, but the final result can be pretty good. The front camera comes with only 5 MP, which is in fact more than other smartphones have to offer, especially since it includes autofocus and an adaptive flash for selfies. The video captures can get to 4K, but only for a time period of 6 minutes.  Unfortunately, there is no quick launch for the camera.

Apple iPhone 7 Plus

apple-iphone-7-plus

Apple entered fall with new devices. Coming in the usual gold, rose gold, silver, but also matte black and a glossy jet black, iPhone 7 Plus has a new antenna design and has no socket for headphones, a speaker grille being what replaced the socket. This means that whoever buys 7 Plus needs wireless headphones or a Lightning connector. Also, the Home button is no longer a button to be pressed and it doesn’t sense movement, because now it does not move anymore. Another great feature is 7 Plus’ waterproofness, considering that former drops in the toilet or pool used to cause a lot of damage.

In what concerns the cameras, 7 Plus as a rear dual camera, with a 56 mm f/2.8 lens for standard shots, and a 23 mm f/1.8 lens for wide angles. With these two lenses zooming to only get low quality and pixelated photos is not that much of a problem anymore, because the zoom can reach 230 mm, respectively 10x digital zoom. The lenses can further create a depth effect for portraits, meaning that the background would be out of focus. On the other side, the front camera comes with a resolution of 7 MP and f/2.2 aperture. The flash is also very good for capturing all the colours, but also for recognizing bodies and faces.

We mentioned that the home button has suffered some modifications. Instead of having the old classic button to be clicked, now we have a track pad like instrument, which activates a vibration that gives the impression of movement. The new button can be used for double taps, but also for signing into Touch ID.

iPhone 7 Plus also comes with the latest Apple A10 Fusion processor, which means faster loading and more likely no crashes so far. Considering this and the 5.5 inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the battery might seem in danger. However, the new 7 Plus’ battery can get through more than 24 hours. And while games and the camera can drain it, at least the battery is not as sensitive as before to communication apps.

Samsung Galaxy S7

samsung-galaxy-s7

The long awaited Samsung flagship might not seem in any way different in design, perhaps except for looking more minimalist. With a size of 142.4 x 69.9 x 7.9 mm and a weight of 159 grams, S7 is not part of the plastic back gang, but glass. All metal and glass, S7 is coated against damaging factors such as water and dust. The phone still has its physical home hey, which can still be double tapped to launch the camera app.

The hardware load can differ from Samsung’s octo core chipset to Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, but regardless of which version is hosted, S7 is still smooth and fast. With 4 GB of RAM, there are no troubles in switching from one app to another, which is a thumb up when it comes to playing games. Of course, the same demanding games that are benefiting from the new and better performance also raise the temperature of the phone. However, moments of overheating are rare and not taken to the extreme. This is also supported by a better battery of 3,000 mAh, which can last an entire day. For a better battery performance, the software comes with its usual power saving technology, the phone identifying the rarely used apps and keeping them closed. Of course, the device also supports quick charging with the specific charger.

The 5.1 inch display comes with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and density of 571 ppi, vibrant colours and deep blacks. But while this is not exactly new, there is also a return, the one of microSD. Although the device comes with an internal storage of 32 GB, with 8 of them being eaten up by the system, the microSD card slot is more than welcomed. However, the section is not integrated, appearing as a separate area. Though, one good enough for any media files, especially photos coming from the 12 MP (f/1.7) rear camera and 5 MP (f/1.7) front one, both doing great in low light situations and being quite close to the performance of a professional camera.

Apple iPhone 7

apple-iphone-7

Back to Apple’s devices, we have iPhone 7 with its 4.7 inch screen and gold, rose gold, silver, matte black and jet black, the overall aspect of the already presented iPhone 7 Plus. The headphone socket misses from this original edition too, being replaced with various speakers for a better sound. However, the phone provides a pair of earphones for Lightning connection (and also an adaptor); while on the market there are already wireless headphones that work perfectly fine. In addition, the new home button can originally be found here.

Even though it does not have the dual camera from the 7 Plus version, iPhone 7 still has a 12 MP (f/1.8) rear protruding camera and a 7 MP front one. The new flash can capture better skin tones and have some sharp final results, very natural in all sort of different lighting situations.

iPhone 7 is much more resistant from various points of view, as it can stay up to 30 minutes under water, without suffering any form of damage, and process everything much faster and with rich graphics due to the Apple A10 Fusion processor. The battery is also more resistant, even when considering the 4.7 inch screen with the 1334 x 750 pixel resolution, and it can survive without charging between 13 hours and maybe a little over 24.

Google Pixel

google-pixel-phone

By joining forces, HTC and Google came with Google Pixel. At a first glance, the phone might appear as a mix between iPhone, Samsung and HTC One, with the large chambers, glass panel back and flat edges, and the eye catching stamped G, Google Pixel is forming its own identity. On the side, Pixel has its power and volume buttons, while the back glass covers the camera, sensors, the LED flash and fingerprint sensor.

Google Pixel is quite a small phone in a mass of growing devices, therefore having an AMOLED screen of only 5 inches and 1080 x 1920 pixels, but it still offers the best screen for such a size. The device further functions with Snapdragon 821 quad core processor backed by 4 GB of RAM. Facing these aspects with the 2.770 mAh battery, as well as considering the Android Nougat software, can last even two days, especially because there is almost no battery draining when the phone is not used. However, it still supports quick charging.

To fill the 32 or 128 GB from the storage, which unfortunately cannot be further expanded via microSD cards, the almost perfect camera can be used. The photos are detailed and well coloured, while the process of taking a shot is immediate.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

samsung-galaxy-s7-edge

Finally, the ultimate praised smartphone of the year (though debatable) is Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge. The 5.5 inch device comes with the expected design already seen in S6’s Edge version. Measuring 150.0 x 72.6 x 7.7 mm and weighting 157 grams, S7 Edge is thicker than S6 Edge and subsequently the camera is no longer so protruding. Meanwhile, the rest of the design is defined by metal and glass instead of plastic, an aspect which makes the glossy versions of gold and silver more handsome. Thankfully, this smartphone is also resistant against dust and water.

The device is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 like S7; carrying 4 GB of RAM, but it comes with a visibly capacious battery of 3,600 mAh. The battery’s endurance is so significantly enhanced that even on the busiest days, which require gluing oneself to the phone, it still lasts almost the entire day. But even with quick charging and battery life saving mode, having an AMOLED screen of 5.5 inches with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and density of 534 ppi has its downs. Luckily, the phone responds to lighting conditions on its own by adjusting the brightness, without affecting the rich colours.

Coming with 32 GB, out of which 8 are for the system, the phone can further support microSD cards in order to host the photos taken by the 12 MP (with aperture of f/1.7) rear camera or the 5 MP front camera, which also transforms the screen into its own flash. The camera reacts well in different conditions that require better lighting or adjusting to other factors, while the manual controls can be further modified depending on ISO or shutter speed.

So far, this is the best the 2016 year has had to offer us in terms of technology and smartphones. There have been significant improvements from the big names, while even the smaller brands did their best to catch up from the behind. 2017 is approaching and new smartphones are being announced.

The Most Popular and Highly Addictive Facebook Games

$

0

This series might not be the typical topic you are use to read on my blog, but I think it will be useful for all those webmasters and internet users who want to take a break from their work.

Facebook is good for many things, including meeting new people, getting it touch with long lost friends as well as finding communities that enjoy the same things as you do. Let’s not forget about another huge aspect of Facebook; games. Being able to compete with your buddies in one of the many applications which are available is amazing!

Taking into consideration that more and more people play some sort of a video game, either on their phones, laptops, tablets or personal computers, it is not surprising that there are some fun and highly addicting games on Facebook alone.

In this list, we will take a closer look at some of the best games in the Facebook Games directory and talk about the game mechanics, payment options, gameplay and many other things. Hopefully, you will find the next game that you can invest hours into from the list below.

Candy Crush Soda Saga

candy crush soda saga facebook game

Criminal Case

criminal case facebook game

This puzzle, hidden object game has over 10 million active users and it is one of the most popular Facebook games on the market right now!

The game puts you in the shoes of Officer Ace, a detective who solves murder mysteries and puts criminals behind bars. Throughout the game, you will be assign a variety of different cases and you will need to complete different puzzles to continue with the investigation.

In your first case, you need to find the killer of Rosa Wolf. Collecting evidence, examining the dead body, piecing things together all have their own mini games that you need to complete, but the main part of the game is finding a list of hidden objects in a picture. You have a certain amount of time to do this and you can chain them together for a higher score.

The higher your score, the more stars you gain. You will have to replay levels to gain access to more stars as they are required for certain actions. As you proceed with the investigation, you will uncover new things about the murderer from witnesses, surveillance cameras and other sources.

The last step that you need to do is to choose the right person from the lineup based on the facts that you have learned. Once you arrest the correct person, you can close the case and reap the rewards.

After solving your first case, you can customize a few things about your character, such as the gender, clothes and hair. After this, you are ready to compete with your friends on a leaderboard. There is an energy system which slows the gameplay down, but other than that this is a very fun game if you enjoy puzzles.

Pros: The gameplay is very enjoyable, as you constantly have to do different puzzles, based on what you are trying to accomplish and graphically, the game is amazing, as it shows pretty graphic scenes at times.

Cons: You might not like the energy system, especially since you need to constantly redo levels to get all the available stars. Having to stop because you have run out of energy is a real bummer.

8 Ball Pool

8 ball pool facebook game

8 Ball Pool by Miniclip is another popular Facebook application which is used by people all around the World. Currently it has 4 and a half stars, so based on user feedback, it must be good. In addition, there are millions of players who compete against each other on daily basis.

The game allows you to play 8 Ball Pool with your friends or complete strangers and compete in tournaments or play casually.  If you do not know how 8 Pool works, you have 7 solid and 7 striped balls, with an additional black and white one. The first ball that you hit into one of the corners, using the white ball will be your color and you need to clear all of them from the table.

You shouldn’t try to eliminate the black ball, as it makes you instantly lose. You win by clearing all of the striped or solid balls and only then going for the black one. You can spin the ball by tweaking the white ball in the corner of the screen, when you are playing.

The Pool Shop allows you to buy various things, such as cues with different styles and attributes, table designs, chat packs as well as Pool Cash. There are items that can be purchased using the currency that you earn by playing the game and competing in tournaments as well as some for which you need to pay real money.

Pros: This is a simple game of 8 Pool. If you like the game, you will surely enjoy this application as well. Playing against your friends is also a lot of fun, as you can compete in real time. You can also communicate with your opponent using the available chat commands.

Cons: The only thing that you can do in this game is to play 8 Ball. If you do not enjoy the gameplay, this might not be the right game for you. Being able to purchase stronger cues for real money also introduces an unfair advantage to those who choose to purchase Pool Bucks.

SEO Is Not Only About Keywords and Backlinks – SEO is Branding!

Wrapping up

Here is how you setup an eCommerce website with PrestaShop quick and easy. If you want to create your own PrestaShop store I highly recommend InMotion Hosting for setting up and hosting your website. InMotion offers one-click PrestaShop installation or you can select a pre-installation on checkout. The pre-installation is free and automated, once your account is activated you will have your shop ready to be used.

Besides the fact that InMotion is a very good host, they offer 90 Day Money Back guarantee. So if you buy a hosting plan, just to try out BoldGrid and you don’t like it, you can ask for a refund. You have basically 3 months to test and use BoldGrid. Yes, it is true that you need to buy hosting, but if you are building a website you will need hosting anyways.

You don’t want to mess with free hosting accounts, do you?

So I suggest signing up with InMotion Hosting, trying out BoldGrid free of charges and in case you don’t like the software, asking for a refund within 90 days.

Conclusion – Is BoldGrid for You?

In my opinion, BoldGrid is a great piece of extension to WordPress, something unique and revolutionary. BoldGrid might not be for everyone, but I’m sure that beginners and non-technical users will love it! Some WordPress developers might consider BoldGrid a no-go, because developers can build stunning landing pages with CSS and HTML coding. But don’t forget that not everyone who use WordPress can also write code.

So if you are a beginner who is looking for an easy-to-use tool for building awesome layouts in WordPress or if you are a developer in a rush setting up a unique website for a client, you should try out BoldGrid.

PS: If you already tried out BoldGrid, please share your experience in the comment section below. I’m very curious about your opinion!
